PROJECT 08 URBAN PARASITE

KOREA - BUSAN

UNDER CONSTRUCTION

Urban Parasite is a compact research hub dedicated to future aquaculture and coastal resilience in Busan’s harbor. The project combines experimental aqua-farming—algae, seaweed, and shellfish cultivation—with climate research labs that explore how coastal cities can adapt to rising seas and changing marine ecosystems.

Both laboratory and living system, the building serves as a testing ground for sustainable ocean food production while offering visitors insight into new ecological technologies. Urban Parasite becomes a small but highly productive organism within the harbor landscape—cultivating, observing, and redefining the relationship between city and sea.
